The Costume Designer and the UPM
A costume friend of mine just sent this link to me. It made me laugh and cry-- and wonder what I am doing with my life sometimes. I think I had this same conversation with my UPM (Unit Production Manager ie the guy with the ability to approve money).
Instead of underwater mermaid costumes switch it to 1960's period gangsters in suits that were all 46L portly.
