Anyone want a little more vampire in their life? This is the just released trailer for Let Me In, a remake of the Swedish Film, Let The Right One In. The original was amazing, as was the book, but having designed the costumes for this one and absolutely loved the other film-- fans will not be disappointed.
Already, there are comments from many territorial fans that hate that this was remade and I understand their anger. (Clash of the Titans, anyone?) But, I'm from the theatre world and have seen Chekov and Shakespeare redone in all sorts of ways and enjoyed it. A great story is simply that.
Let Me In is different from the first one in significant ways, pulling more source material from the book. Matt Reeves, the director, was in close communication with the writer of the book and first screenplay. If he approves, who are we to question? Essentially, this is a modern Grimm's cautionary tale of what can happen when the modern world forgets that evil does exist.
Thoughts?
Scary!
